Finally... a PROVEN... Step-by-Step Video Course That Will Show You Exactly How to Take Better Food Photos in Just 30 Days

Do You Know What it Takes to Improve Your Food Photos?

It’s not a new camera.

No you don’t need a fancy new camera to take better photos.

No not even that lens.

You also don’t need a new prop to improve your food photos.

Or a new prop.

And no... it’s not the software either...

You don’t need a fancy new software to take better food photos.

Yes, Lightroom helps.

But that’s not why your photos are not improving.

So once again, it’s not the camera or the lens. It’s also not the prop. It’s certainly not the software.

So what is it?

What does it take to improve your food photos?

I created food photography learning plan.

A plan that helped improve all 7 food photography skills.

Hi I am Neel...

Hi my name is Neel. I am a food photographer and founder of LearnFoodPhotogarphy.

Over the last 5 years. I have taught food photography to more than 6000 students.

But here’s the thing...

I became a food photographer by accident.

I started photography about 20 years ago, but I never knew about food photography until 2005.

In 2005, a friend offered me my first food photography assignment. Yes, I accepted the assignment.

I also completed the assignment.

But, if I only knew then what I know now... I would have never sent those photos to the client.

The joys of your first photo assignment in a new field.

I knew my food photos were not great. I wanted to improve them...and I struggled.

I struggled through the journey of improving my food photos.

There was only one book on food photography. There were no blogs or articles in those days. Maybe one.

There was no place to find a step by step way to improve your food photos. The field was not as popular.

Finally, after months of search and I said forget it...

I said I’ll start documenting my journey and creating my own step-by-step system.

I started LearnFoodPhotography and started study food photos in the magazines. I would look at cookbooks for hours. I would tear food photos from those magazines and file them.

Note the techniques they used and try them. Sometimes they worked, most times they didn’t.

And then I would try again.

Then one by one, things started coming together. One technique at a time, food photography started making sense to me. I documented the exercises I did and consolidated them together to create a learning plan.

This food photography learning plan has been used by more than 6000 students.

Some of them have shot for magazines, cookbooks, some have started commercial careers. Some students food bloggers have seen massive traffic growth. Some are working in stock photography industry.

The THREE Big Mistakes That Are Holding You Back

Mistake 1 – You Have No Learning Plan

Do you cook your dish by randomly adding stuff to it?

Without following a recipe?

Without thinking it through? Throwing stuff in a pan and waiting to see what happens?

Guess what, the “throw-things-in-a-pan-and-let’s-see-what-happens” doesn’t work for photography either.

Sometimes, once in a while, you may create a good photograph… just like you may create a good dish, but most times you won’t.

And yet here you are… trying to learn the most complicated type of photography without creating a learning plan.

You are trying and learning things at a random pace, in random order…

Sometimes you use side lighting, sometimes you change the props… sometimes something else…

This is why sometimes you may get one photo that you like, but other times you don’t.

This is why your progress has been slow.

You are focusing too much on one skill and not on other…

You are falling into this same trap…

You know about certain skills so you focus on those skills…

Then you start getting good at those and you focus on those skills even more…

It becomes a loop… and you start spinning in a circle without making progress.

So now tell me….

What skills have you been ignoring?

Mistake 2 – You Are Rushing Through The Photo Session

That’s right…

The second common mistake – rushing through the photo session… said another way, not taking the time to create a photograph and everything that’s involved in the process.

Here’s the truth…

The process of making a food photo doesn’t start when you pick up the camera. It starts days in advance.

Isn’t it crazy?

You spend so much time, effort and energy on the food…

…buying the ingredients, getting the recipe right, carefully noting the details, meticulously right down the instructions…

…checking and rechecking the dish…

And when it comes to photographing the food… what do you do?

Plop the food on a dish, choose props that you can find the fastest, use your camera with whatever lens and whatever setting it is on…

…without bothering to set the scene, or trying to find the best light, what do you do?

… you start clicking. Press the shutter 20 times and you’ll magically get a great photo…

Right?

And then what?

You look at the back of your camera, obviously, the photo doesn’t come out as you want…

So you try a couple of more times… press that button some more…

maybe move the prop here and there, if you remember…

And then?

The thought comes to mind… “I can’t do this.”

And so you give up. You give up before trying enough…

Guess what…?

If your approach is not intentional, your photos will show that.

Tell me this…

…does it make any sense to you?

Spending so much money, time and energy on food, and trying to create a great food photo by random luck… Just trying to rush through the process…

Doesn’t make sense to me…

I am sure it does not make sense to you either.

Mistake 3 – You Are Doing It All Alone

Us photographers… we tend to be focused on creating photograph…

and thinking that we can do this all alone…

The truth is there are some things we can do alone…

Browsing Pinterest and looking at other food photographers

Reading blog posts

Reading books…

And thinking that you don’t need help… that you can conquer this alone…

This is so easy to do… you can go for months without noticing something wrong…

Heard about confirmation bias?

Our inability to view things objectively. And interpreting any piece of information in a way to confirm our own beliefs.

Isn’t it crazy?

You just answered what skills you struggle with?

And now you know about this thing called confirmation bias… meaning you view facts such a way that you agree with yourself…

You feel you need to improve composition… and so in your photos, you only look at things that point out issues with composition?

What if… you are ignoring bigger opportunities of improvements?

That’s why new students plateau…

You can only go so far on your own…

So who’s helping you?

Who is keeping you accountable?

What Students Are Saying...

Anitha B. Food Blogger

Thanks a lot for this wonderful and extremely useful course. It has really improved my photography skills - using props, lighting, planning and execution. I definitely see a change in my photos. The best part was sharing the photos on this group and receiving feedback from the members out here. I also learned a lot from looking at the other photos posted by the members of the group. It is a well planned course and the weekly recap sessions were also very useful. Looking forward to continue the interaction with you and other members out here.

Michelle R Media Teacher

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for this course. I haven't been doing all the assignments but think your course is very well done. I just finished completing some masters levels courses at [removed] university and was extremely disappointed. I wish their classes taught like yours does. I'm also a media teacher and your assignments have been inspirational in getting lesson ideas. Great job!

Are you ready to take better food photos?
